Ep. 59 The Media’s Tough on Hillary Because of Right-Wing Pressure, Says Paul “La-La Land” Krugman

6 November 2016     |     Tom Woods     |     10

The big problem this election cycle, according to Krugman, are all the media attacks — on Hillary Clinton. The scandals surrounding her are manufactured out of nothing by the right wing.

On Twitter last week, Krugman expressed his outrage at people who make evidence-free insinuations, and five seconds later speculated that FBI Director James Comey was trying to help GOP senators in the 2016 election.

Don’t tease us Tom and Bob. “If there is another cruise…” You have to have another cruise next year. I might reverse my opinion on no positive obligations to allow us to force Tom and Bob to have another cruise (this is a joke.) On the last cruise my kids were too young to take on a trip. The next cruise we’ll definitely be there.

  • Brian Thom

So I broke down and watched the cruise highlights video, and my reaction was just as I expected – I was way more bummed than before that I wasn’t able to go. Oh well, there’s always next year….right??

Contra Cruise 2016: Highlights! (4:08 Minutes)

A pajama party for libertarian adults was the best description given. I’m glad you guys had so much fun, but if I had been there, I would have been hiding in my cabin the entire time. I am severely introverted and large crowds really make me nauseous. If somewhat contrarian speakers had been invited (such as johnathan Haidt, Steven Pinker, Thomas Sowell, Walter Williams, Stefan Molyneux, Vox Day,..) also, I would have been more likely to have wanted to come as I would have been more likely to learn from someone I somewhat disagree with. I’ve spent enough time with libertarian choirs, that I don’t feel I need to do so again.

But I am so glad you guys got the experience and had fun!

I would appreciate knowing approximately how much money was spent by most visitors going on the ContraCruise? When I add up the cruise, transportation, and such,… I come up with several thousand dollars which I don’t have to spend for a week’s vacation, nor will I have any time soon.

I had the misfortune to take a history class in which the “professor” tried to pretend there were no Muslim invasions in the early Medieval period – that European Christians in the 11th Century were seized by a sort of collective insanity, and travelled en masse to The Holy Land to slaughter peaceful Muslims. I had the temerity to point out that Muslim armies invaded Spain in 711 A.D. This changed the atmosphere in the classroom. But many of the students thought I was making things up.

    • Dexter Morgan

Sure, but armies on both sides slaughtered plenty of civilians. The Crusaders slaughtered plenty of innocents, and the Muslim armies did as well.

      • nonlinearsandwich

The point, young man, is that the Muslims initiated hostilities. Also, in the 11th Century, the Muslims in Jerusalem started killing and torturing Christian pilgrims to Christian holy sites, which led directly to the First Crusade and the recapturing of Jerusalem by Christian armies. Try to get the facts straight.

        • Dexter Morgan

None of that refutes my point. It’s like bin Laden saying ‘they started it’.

          • nonlinearsandwich

Christians, Jews, and Muslims should all have access to Jerusalem and to the holy places in the area. Do you agree?

          • Dr. Weezil

They do. But that should be up to the owner, no?

Contra Krugman episode #59 comes through on feeds as filename=”woods_2016_11_06.mp3″ instead of previously file naming paradigm “ck_2016_11_*.mp3”.

I suspect this file name is in error; it ruins my file order on my mp3 player but is trivial.
